Rising from deep blue lakes to the heights of the surrounding mountain ranges, the Southern Lakes region never fails to impress. Known as the adventure capital of New Zealand, in Queenstown you can jump off a bridge or a mountain, raft or surf down a river or swing through a canyon. Queenstown also offers far more gentle pursuits – such as horse trekking, fishing or quad bike riding. Take advantage of the local award winning wineries – for a leisurely lunch or a tasting session.

In addition to the fantastic year–round and summer activities, Queenstown is surrounded by six world class ski areas. So when you stay at Orchard Cottage you are close to the action – whether you're keen on skiing, snowboarding or just want to be in and around the snow action, the winter resort of Queenstown has so much to offer.
